Katherine Heigl shares her experiences living in a white bubble has impacted the way that she parented her adopted family of multiracial origins. But after having a conversation with her Korean-American adopted older sister, she realised the distinction in how people treated her and her. Meg was asked whether the way she was treated differed in the times they went out with their parents and then when they went alone. Meg replied, "Oh yeah, always!" This made me realize I was naive," Heigl said to parents. Heigl said she got angry and felt that it was important to focus her anger on helping the adopted children she has. The couple, who are married to Josh Kelley and their son Joshua Bishop Kelley Jr., 4, have been together for thirteen years. The couple's daughter Nancy Leigh was adopted from South Korea by the couple in 2009; Adalaide is a Black 8-year-old girl who they adopted in 2012.
