Laura Linney has been hailed as one of the most acclaimed actors. Linney is renowned as a strong actress who are also vulnerable. Her father was a celebrated playwright. However, she was raised as a single child by a single mom, a nurse. In the summer when she was with her father, Linney developed a passion for the theatre. Her first stage experience was initially through Brown University then at Juilliard School. Starting her acting career on the Broadway shortly after her graduation, she debuted in films within two years. She also appeared on TV within a year. Since then, she has performed in many films and stage and television productions. She has been nominated for three Academy Awards, five Tony Awards, and four Primetime Emmy Awards (including two Golden Globe Awards), and has won numerous awards throughout her time on the stage. In spite of all the awards she has received, theatre has remained her first love and she continues to perform both on screen and on stage.
