Jenna Fischer was best known for her role as Pam Beesly (the character of The Office) in the television show. Her role on The Office earned her an Emmy nod for the Best Supporting Actress category and she also won two SAG Awards, both for extraordinary performances on an ensemble cast in a comedy.
She was born and raised in Fort Wayne in Indiana. Jenna watched her mom, Anne, perform in performances at church while she was a child, which instilled a love for theater and performing.
After wrapping up The Office, Fischer, a theater-trained actress returned to her roots. The Off-Broadway production of Reasons to Be Happy was written and directed by Neil LaBute, with Josh Hamilton, Leslie Bibb and Fred Weller. The play was followed by her participation at the premiere world-wide of Steve Martin's newest show Meteor Shower, an absurdist comedy opposite Greg Germann and Josh Stamberg, for a record-breaking run at the Old Globe Theatre.
The Office actress Angela Kinsey, Fischer's real-life friend as well as a castmate, started Office Ladies in October 2019 on Earwolf. The podcast was wildly successful, ranking in the Top Ten of the world every week. It received over 200,000,000 downloads during its first 2 years. Office Ladies took home the iHeart Radio Podcast of the Years award in January of 2021.
She is the writer of two books. The Actor's Life and a Survival Guide In it, she details her journey through St. Louis to Hollywood to become a working actress, and the forthcoming Office BFF's: Tales of The Office from Two Best Friends That Were There (co-authored with Angela Kinsey), which is the story of their greatest friendship as well as their work in The Office.
