The date of her birth is 29 March 1985 in Roswell in New Mexico. Gerina Michelle Mendoza has been her birth name. Gerina Stevenson has Mexican parentage Rita Stevenson (mother) and Alan Stevenson (father). She is of Mexican-American heritage and is American through nationality. Since she was a child she has had a strong interest in playing athletics. Gerina started playing golf at the age of she reached the age of 15. Gerina went to Goddard High School for her secondary education. When she was a student in high school she won in the New Mexico Golf State Tournament. Her volleyball skills were also acknowledged at the national stage. 2003, she began studying at The University of Texas. Her senior year was a success. she was a winner in every tournament she took part in. During undergraduate studies she was awarded the title that included Conference USA Female Athlete and Conference USA Individual Player of the Years.
